Firebug is a must for any web developer
FireShot - Brillaint for taking screen shots and annotating them right in the browser, great for creating quick how-to instructions for using web apps (cms etc)

Used to use many more, don't find the need any more.

The idea behind it is great but it's so annoying to use. Every time you go to a new site it breaks up the formatting and throws up 5 or 6 check boxes.

The rest of us have to prototype our designs in Fireworks to keep the clients / boss happy :(

Obviously I use firebug, Yslow, FireRainbox etc. I've also found HTML Validator to be very useful, if only it understood that trailing slashes are only needed for XHTML... I've also got Pencil but I've never managed to work out how to use it. It looks so helpful too..

I've had firebug for a while and never really needed to use it, but I was working on a CMS template I didn't build a bit ago and firebug made it so much easier. I've also started using YSlow.
