Hi,

They'll be some interesting changes around WDF over the coming months, first of which is the new "Award Badges" system.

We are currently in the process of creating Badge Titles so there's only currently a few available e.g. Competition Winner, Spam Reporter, Website of the Month Winner, Top Greeter etc etc.... but we will be adding more over the coming weeks, so keep a look out for those! You may very well be the winner of one shortly!

Awards will be viewable at the bottom of your mini profile on all your posts/topics and also within the "Awards" tab within your main profile.

The aim is to have around 15 different award types to start with and go from there, if you have any suggestions for new award badges e.g. "CSS Guru", "Great Support" etc etc .... please do let us know.

Badges are stackable, meaning that they can be accumulated, so you're not limited to just 1 badge! - you can show off all your different types of awards.

Are the new badges going to be for keeps or only until the badge is awarded the next time?
If for keeps, then perhaps the badge should have the date ie Best Gallery Jan 2011.

Is the decision only with you, Ben, or a chosen moderator or the result of a members vote? (Open to abuse like the FIFA decision probably).

Nice idea, is there only going to be one winner of a certain badge or will it be a multiple thing, where lots can be most helpful or most popular?

How about one for most addicted, but rather than being based on post count it can be based on posts a day.

There may be some time-sensitive badges e.g. expires after 30 days, there could be a 1st, 2nd 3rd total posts badge.... So there would only be one of those I guess... Still thinking about it.

But currently the plan is to have badges all members can attain and also collect as you can earn multiple badges!

OK, we've pretty much got the Awards ironed out, but as you'll appreciate it's currently a busy period, i'm just about to shoot out the door to do the whole Christmas Thing with family, so it may have to wait until next year! - But it's gonna be one hell of a year for the forum!
