I think it may be only in Chrome as I tried it in Firefox and there was nothing.

It's only active if you're signed into your Google account at present, I believe

I've been using it a lot today - very impressive, I really do like it.

It's pretty cool to use. I can't think of a reason why I'd disable it at present.

To be honest though I usually just use the Google search box on my browser.

Putting your search into Chrome (or any other browser) like Andyl says does not work - it will give you the basic google search. The google instant has been running in the google labs for a while but now has transitioned onto the main page, if you use the main page then their you have it..

I wrote a short blog about the implications of google in relation to Search marketing, and Optimisation, basically we now have to optimise in a more liner way - check it out if your interested, and if you have time please leasve a reply.

Google is still rolling this feature out in chunks, so some people will not experience this straight away. should be in the next few weeks everyone logged in will be using it. :)

It works fine with mozilla, as long as you are signed in, and using classic (not iGoogle)
