Hey,

Before I posted the design of this site, asking for opinions, here it is in HTML/CSS/JS form.

It is currently being held at: http://www.alternativestuff.co.uk

Some things you should know:

  • Only hompeage has been created
  • Some fonts might change with help of http://webfonts.fonts.com/
  • Website header image is going to be chanegd into text and under a <h1> tag
  • I am also contemplating a subtle background, any ideas?

Your website reminds me the old BT website for some reason.

Not bad, just think the text for the navigation can be smaller.

Few negatives out the way first:

  • Generally, it doesn't look very modern. I'm not sure if this is an issue for you or not, though.
  • The main text content doesn't line up with the image slider above it (meaning the left hand side of the paragraph should align vertically with the left hand side of the image slider).
  • Everything seems a bit... big and plain. Sort of like it's a website designed for the visually impaired. This ensures usability, which is good, but makes the aesthetics suffer quite dramatically.

That aside, it's a clean design that is nice, tidy, and easy to use. Keep up the work :).
