What is the main reasonable banner size for websites? I don't want it too big or too small that makes it fit all browsers at a reasonable size.

It depends on space available really, however for main banners I use 850 on the 'X axis' by 165 on the 'Y axis' (pixels) and have not had any problems with it on any sites i use, I believe its better to go with the smaller sizes until the day widescreen becomes an industry standard, but im still learning too.
