Google's criteria of caching for deleted blogs

It happened few days back that I syndicated PR and I had to modify it due to some reasons, but what about in Google results as it will show the previous submissions too? How to go about it?

Could try removing the URL using the google url remove service, or return a 301/404 status for the url in question.

Ok thanks! It is already showing 301/404 status for the URL in question. Anybody else who want to say his suggestion..

Well you can't just remove it instantly, stuff like this takes time. Returning a 404 is apparently slightly faster than returning a 301. Just gotta wait

I think, to completely remove the URL from our search results, remove service and returning a 404 is apparently slightly faster than returning a 301. thanks. for sharing.
