@Alzer - Loving that logo, Al. I can't top the "pixel perfect" comment offered earlier.

@Mike - Way to tease your audience, fella! Wanna see more of that design!

I scrapped my previous design (as I so often do!) so this is what i'll be developing over the next few weeks. The bottom blank section will contain the recent posts and comments. The top bar will contain login boxes for any contributors/article writers to the blog.

I'm very impressed with how you've handled an obviously very difficult logo and colour scheme. On the logo the colours look a bit awkward, but the way you've used them works really well.

Good job, client should be chuffed!

Thanks Mike! It wasn't as hard to make it work as you'd think. Hoping to touch up the logo a bit soon so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Hope you don't mind a Yankee posting here.

Here's a logo I created, which in turn, is for sale. I'm really enjoying this forum so far.

Mark Jenner i really like the look and feel of your design, obviously your working on something close to my heart - Xbox.
It's got a very cold feel, maybe that's due to the repeat of the sample Skyrim images, keep us updated and i look forward to the finished product.

Ta very much. Though I must say, that design has also been scrapped for the reason you picked up on - it's just not warm and lively enough. I'm also struggling to get a magazine design together which doesn't look like the other 20,000 (rough guess!) that i've seen along the way!

Yeah it's hard to steer away from the custom 'green' that is Xbox, are you going for user generated content?

Ahhh you have me all excited i think my head is going to blow!

http://err0r.raven.f...site/index.html I am very new and trying to start a small side money business and practicing web design before I start a class soon. I plan on changing the header and buying a domain but not until I learn how to custom a few things on the site.

Initial stages of logo design for my gaming blog.

Any ideas for improvements appreciated!

Currently working on a slight refresh of my site design - I'm looking at responsivising my grid, rewriting a lot of my hacked-together content and especially changing my homepage design; I don't think the current slider is particularly good as a portfolio showcase. Here's a screenie of how far I've got with the homepage (@978px, folio screenshots will be a carousel):

Yeah, I CBA to replicate the footer design in Photoshop (most of it wasn't in my comps for the last version; I did it in the browser) so I just took a screenie.

After staring at it for months, I finally corrected the thread title.

If anyone else has been annoyed by the same thing, you should check out @StealthMountain on Twitter - it's a bot that @replies to folks who misspell the same thing, and the creator favourites some of the best responses. Awesome stuff.

Edit: @4cp - pretty, but I'd loosen up the line-height a bit.

Now that I finally have some free time, I'm dusting off a few old personal projects that I never had a chance to finish.

Currently I'm putting together a design for a CMS theme (probably Wordpress) for animal rescues and shelters. There's a fair few in my area with old, run-down websites that could really do with a bit of modernising. Should hopefully end up with them having an easy to update site that they can customise and brand themselves.
