freelance and full time job

i freelance but just recently got a full time job and was wondering if i have to let hmrc know about it?

Without question you should. Any money you earn needs to be declared so you can pay vat on it.

well the main reason i ask is because the money i earn with my full time job is gettin cut for tax/nic through paye anyway...
so i still got to let them know? as in pick up the phone/write a letter and tell them?

Just give them a call and ask them http://search2.hmrc....actus/start.jsp
you may also want to check the contract of your employer to ensure there are no restrictions about other work that you do.

HMRC will have details about the permanent job, but i think its no need to disclose your freelancing work details with them.

I think you can just do a self-assessment form at the end of the year, so it's not too painful!
