Sorry just re-read. You want to become more prominent (i.e you're already on there?).

I'll leave my original post for others however.

My original post said:

Google.co.uk/places

Also using things like <address> tag on your website get's you on their pretty quick in my experience :)

REVIEWS!

Get Google reviews and you'll go up. I simply asked my clients to copy and paste their testimonials onto my Google places for me and I went up lots.

You can get reviews via external sources too which Google also looks at.

Another good way to do this is to get in with Thompson Local who are afilliated with Google. This costs you about £500 per year, but pays for itself.

Yeah - good advice and look how important it might soon be.

Google could be about to round up and kick the crap out of Yell.com

I for one would love this!

I have discovered a very good technique for google local business.

You have to buy a keyword domain name and cross link it with linkedin, facebook and twitter and it works perfectly, few weeks and you are in top three guaranteed!!!

For more info contact me.

Have your postal code listed on your own website in contact page. This will make google to index it and when someone searches for your business category and that postal code, your business will be shown not only within the local results, it will be shown below in the natural search results.
