Hi, I know there has been some unhappy customers that have used Yell.com, but has anyone had any success?
They phoned me this morning and sounded pretty good. I know that when they say 'enquiries' the mean 'view', but they said that 10% of views would email/call, and they seem pretty adamant that they would.
So I just want to know if anyone has had the success that they are claiming?
Thanks

Was "roped" into their services over a year ago now, and still haven't had a single call from the advertising on yell. The reason I know this, is because any of my potential clients that phone / email me, I ask them where heard about my services and how they found me.
I have a bill sitting from them for something like £300 odd pound and they won't be getting a penny.
If you do a search on the forum for yell, it will bring you up a thread where everyone has the exact same problems.
My advice and everyone else's will be the same, stay away from them!

Yeah today I overheard a Yell saleswomen trying to bully someone we work with into buying ads.
Telling them that the new Google updates that they probably didn't know about (Google Caffeine) would affect their SEO critically if they didn't sign up now.
I interrupted and started talking to her about target audience and conversion rates. She very quickly started tripping up.
Yell.com need to really rethink their bullying strategies.

When I spoke to em, I'm pretty sure they are reading off a script. Guess they catch out a lot of people no in the know about SEO though, but are unlucky when they speak to someone in the know
