I agree with all of the above. I high PR is the most important thing.

i would much prefer a link from a strong web-page with diverse and relevant inbound links... don't pay attention to PR its not worth the effort, its about relevancy to the term in question that matters...

As per my point of view ranking in Search engines is more important than PageRank for website. Because PR shows your web page value individually calculated by Google. But it doesn't mean that you'll get more visitors for your high PR, you can get visitors trust through your website PR. I doesn't mean to say that PR is not important but ranking in search engines can catch visitors for your website.
