Hello

Read about a piece of code you can put into websites to tell people using IE 6 to update their browser

IE 6 Update Site

Has anyone used this and do they reckon it's effective in anyway?

Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

no and no. You'll probably find the majority of IE6 users are in a corporate environment where they don't have any choice in upgrading their browser.

Ditto to this. I worked in the head office for a high profile retail store for a few months, and all the computers there ran IE6. I just found those messages a little annoying, and there was nothing I could do about it :help:

A better alternative might be to incorporate a "optimised for firefox/recommended: firefox" logo or something into your footer. At least that way its not getting in peoples faces, but the message is still there. In my book, if even one person is converted, it'll have been worth it :good:
