Just wondering who uses what browser? I use IE 8 cos I don't think graphics and particularly text look as good in Firefox. Opinions please?

I tried Chrome, and while the extensions are kind of okay - they're pretty flakey compared to FF. I mean, Firebug lite? Webkit is nice, but it just ain't Firebug.
I also liked Opera for a while, but without Xmarks under the bonnet, it's kind of an all or nothing deal.
FF is slooooooow, but it's the best browser for working on.
*(which they don't, and they're doing a great job of scuppering canvas and video element interoperability in HTML5, along with effectively destroying XHTML)

I have to praise Opera as well, meaning the newest version. Thing is, you just can't choose browsers exclusively based on looks anymore. All the new versions of all browsers have begun to incorporate great graphics, so it all comes down to the same thing.
I guess you should give each browser a 1-month test period, write down "+" and "-" and then decide based on solid facts. Hearing other people's opinions also helps.
But I'm sticking with Firefox. Like the name, like the looks, and I can stand a few slow-downs every once in a while

to be honest, I think that if a site I design or that someone else has designed doesn't look OK on all the main browsers, I don't think they deserver my time/consideration anyway, so its a moot point to me

FF is the best for sure. At last count I had 22 Add ons, mainly web design/development tools. Firebug with YSlow and Web Development Tools are my favs plus HTML validator.
When you use Firefox Sync (incorporated with Siphon) you can have the same FF set up no matter where you are: bookmarks, history - the lot - even pasonas!!!
Follow the mantra: design for FF, tweek for IE...

But after reading this .. I'm starting to think it is the FireFox for Mac that is slow !! On Windows I always use FireFox since it was Fast. On the Mac though .. it is VERY SLOW in my case.
I'm going to use Safari from now on. I'll keep FF for Firebug.
Thanks

Internet explorer is a web designers nightmare as they write there own code, only 25% w3c compliant, Only 40% css3 compliant and all round "rubbish" browser.... The only reason they are so big is all pc's are pre installed with them and people do not bother changing them.
Firefox is ok but very slow, takes about 10 seconds for the window to even popup. I keep getting messages about the stupid plugins need updating etc which is annouying.
Safari again needs updating every 30 seconds it seams and the text on it doesnt look as good as some other browsers. Not bad, better than firefox and ie.
Opera - not even speaking about that cack...

Chrome will be good when the same add ons arrive soon. I think that will make it a serious competitor to Firefox.
Have the others too but only really use them to see how things look, including the brick that is IE.
