Hi All

Just a quick one. I am being tasked with designing an ecommerce website. Up until now most of my experience has been with joomla. What i was wondering is would it be better to stick with what i know and use joomla with virtumart or go for a dedicated ecommerce sollution like oscommerce?

Thanks in advance

Well it depends on what the requirments of the eCommerce store are IMO? What will the requirments be?

There are a lot better solutions than oscommerce too. My personal fave is Open Cart

Hi Nellyshark, thanks for the quick reply. Im not 100% sure of the exact requirements just yet but i expect they will just need the stock listed for online purchases and maybe some offers/discounts. Also a News Letter to be sent out every so often.

I havent seen Open Cart yet but ill check it out now. I looked at a few like osc, zen cart, magento, virtuemart for joomla and a few i'd never heard of.

Cheers

Yeah its real simple to use and aesthetically pleasing and css based so a winner in my books, suitable to most small eCommerce projects, glad you like :D

Easy enough, its CSS based so you can play with the CSS without destructing the whole cart :D
