W3C Web Standards Validation Tools

These tools will help you validate a wide range of website related items such as HTML and CSS markup, checking for dead links, checking the validation of RSS feeds and XML files (such as sitemaps) and more.

Markup Validator

  • Also known as the HTML validator, it helps check Web documents in formats like HTML and XHTML, SVG or MathML.

CSS Validator

  • Validates CSS stylesheets or documents using CSS stylesheets.

Link Checker

  • Checks anchors (hyperlinks) in a HTML/XHTML document. Useful to find broken links, etc.

Feed Validator

  • Checks newsfeeds in formats like ATOM and RSS.

XML Schema Validator

  • Validates XML files such as sitemaps used for search engines

Semantic Data Extractor

  • Extracts such information as outline, description, languages used, etc. The aim is to show that providing a semantically rich HTML gives much more value to your code: using a semantically rich HTML code allows a better use of CSS, makes your HTML intelligible to a wider range of user agents (especially search engines bots).
