Hi guys,

Right I have recently been asked to develop a website which allows the client to sell his clothing. His requirements:

- Wants to easily be able to add/delete/edit products and info on the products such as stock
- Ability to update other information such as text content about the company (e.g. policy, t&c)
- Customers are able to pay via Paypal and other card methods

So basically the first thing that came to mind is an e-commerce site that allows the user to easily update information.

Thing is, this is the first e-commerce website I will work on and I am a bit stuck on where to start off. The most important thing is that I choose the right way to go about this to save time.

I would just like some advice on what to use, as I've heard of oscommerce, joomla etc and because I have not used either I want to make sure I start with the best one for my client...then I will learn as I go along.

I assume E-commerce plug ins already have some sort of CMS integrated within them?

Thanks :)

Hi mate,

I dont know whether this answers your question or not, but based on your requirements above I would say have a look at Open Cart http://www.opencart.com/ demo: http://demo.opencart.com/.

It does what you ask above I think. Admin will be able to edit products, there is a facility for t&c, privacy, etc etc and there are a number of payment methods. Its also css based

Hi,
depending on how much stock and also how much control your client wants with his regards to the back end of his shop, you could look at BigCartel http://bigcartel.com/ if its just the basics as you mentioned above or for when I am working on some bigger type shops with more customisation I use xcart http://www.x-cart.com/
