Hi there, so as the title says I upgraded to Firefox 3.6 and it prompted me to restart the browser, but as I was currently typing up an email I opted to restart later. I then restarted Firefox but the browser did not load.

I tried opening it by double clicking the icon and still no luck. After trying a number of different methods of opening Firefox I decided to restart my computer...still no joy so I turned my computer off completely and STILL I am unable to open Firefox since installing the update.

What...the...heck? :p

I'm thinking about finding a previous version to install and see if that works, because one cannot live without the Fox :(

Any suggestions?

I had no problems upgrading to 3.6, but I've just had a crash (FF was open but I wasn't using it)?

Well I've gone back to 3.5.5 for the time being and have no problems. Got quite a bit of work to get on with so can't afford to try 3.6 again right now, but I will in the next couple of days and hopefully it will start up this time round!

So strange...I tried updating again and still it doesn't open up.

I am simply double-clicking on the Firefox icon and the cursor seems to load for 2 seconds then nothing happens.

That's odd, is this happening after you installed and restarted your comp?

Yep, I've completely shut down and switched off the Laptop and still cannot seem to get Firefox 3.6 to open. After a quick Google search I can't seem to find anybody else with the same problem.

That is really odd, it must be conflicting with something on your system.

Are you clicking on a shortcut on your desktop? Is it pointing to the correct executable?

It might be an add-on that isn't compatible with the new version - try disabling all of your add-ons and restarting.

If it opens up fine with all add-ons disabled, then you've narrowed down the cause. You will then have to use a process of elimination to find out which add-on is causing it not to start.

I started to experience an issue with firefox 3.6 where after working for a couple of hours the browser would slow down daramtically and the right click stopped working, this happened on 2 machines, then there was an update and all was fine.... so i guess update your software!
