Thanks tbomedia, I think, it is good idea to share link related with all required information. Most of the senior members like to share links especially of Matt cutt's interview.
Thanks

Hi,
Email marketing is a great tool, with very high conversion rates.
I'm a member of the Directory of Ezines which is a directory of email lists in many, many different niches with subscribers from 1000 to millions in each newsletter. The site also offers other great tools.
Check it out.

What's also important is how you code yopur email to ensure compatibility with the plthora of email clients out there - as coding a html email is different to coding a normal html webpage.
Should also have clear unsubscribe links and not too many images.

Rallport is right in what he's saying. The links below should help.
To be honest though, there is a lot of research to suggest that the most effective emails are plain old text emails.
Hope this helps.
- Rock Solid HTML Emails
- Smashing Magazine Guide
- Email Standards Project
- Guide to CSS Support in Email Clients
- Email Client Popularity
- HTML Email Inline Styler
- Premailer

What are the best software (windows based) for email marketing ?
Totally depends on what features you want, the volume of emaisl your sending, if you need database integration (E.g. for subscribes, unsubscribes directly from the email), tracking options (range from basic totals to detailed delivery and read stats) etc. Costs can vary greatly.
Be warned though, email marketing and coding your email correctly is a huge subject and not one to be taken lightly in my experience. If all your emails are text based then you probably won't have an issue though. There's also all the specific things you need to do to ensure your email isn't automatically seen as spam by free services such as hotmail. The latter is even more important, as if the bulk email youre sending from your mail is frequiently marked as spam then the reputation of the MX record of that mail server can be damaged - soke hosts will ban you for this and have strict things written into theirt t and cs.
It's also worth noting that a lot of hosts have strict limits on the hourly (sometimes daily) amounts of emails you can send.
Email marketing is soemthing that sounds very simple initially, but once you start to delve deeper, there's quit a lot to think about

I quite like a couple of online email marketing services, what are the benefits of using software as opposed to online services like phplist and mailchimp?

Say you're using a more expensive solution with db integration, you can create keep all aspects of email marketing on your website. E.g You would host your own database of users internally, unsubscribe links would go to a page on your website as opposed to a free service - which sometimes like bad. More expensive solutions have tons more integrated tracking solutions too, although I find you can do a lot of tracking using Google Analytics.
