So, taking the above into account, what would be your top and bottom rates, ball park?
Cre8ivdesign - getting a 404 on that page, I'm afraid ...

Basic logo from £79 (that's for a simple text only logo)
Middle of the road logo between £79 and £129(icon and text)
Full colour illustration logo costs a lot more (£90 and upwards)
Personally I offer a minimum of 3 mocks and unlimited revisions
Are you looking for a logo, or are you trying to work out pricing for yourself?
If it's for yourself, you need to work out how much your time and skill costs and then work out how long it will take you to design it (including research, designing, revising, etc)

I'm trying to price up a design of my own for a client..interesting to note that you, Helen, include research time in your calculations..had never even considered this before.
Still interested in what the rest of you are charging, and how you're breaking down the cost

I'll summarise the brief:
'Logo for a site offering coding services (primarily PHP). Simple design promoting the idea of quality over quantity, something that'll look good on a white background for printing invoices, and on a dark-coloured website background'.
Edit: Just realised that doesn't really give much info.. It's a logo design for an acquaintance, so I'll be charging a discounted rate. Have spent about 8hrs on the design so far, and come up with 3 alternatives.

Still interested in what you'd charge for this, Helen
