Thanks a lot to everyone who attended this today, the organisers and to Tim for helping out.

One of the things that I like about Silverlight is that if you want to learn more there's one great website and it's http://www.silverlight.net so check that out for resources.

If you want to catch me then you can find me at http://www.mtaulty.com or via @mtaulty or via mail at mtaulty at microsoft dot com. Feel free to find me one of those ways.

Thanks,

Mike.

Follow up...

Thank you again to all of you who participated in our forum Q&A discussion, I hope Mike and I were able to provide some insight and opinions to help you learn and understand Silverlight.

Since the forum discussion, Microsoft held it’s MIX10 conference where we announced an updated release candidate for Silverlight 4 (the most current version in development) was made available with the announcement that the final release will be within a month’s time. Additionally the other news was the announcement that the application developer platform for Windows Phone 7 Series *IS* Silverlight. This is great news for learning the platform and being able to leverage skills across desktop, web and now mobile. (Note that the XNA Framework for games is also available on Windows Phone 7.).

There is a wealth of information available to learn what’s new in Silverlight 4 and I’d like to provide some resources for you to bookmark:

· A guide to what’s new in Silverlight 4 RC (downloads for the tools and new video tutorials)

· View a lot of videos from the MIX10 conference about Silverlight, Windows Phone and others.

· Silverlight for Windows Phone details (downloads for the FREE tools and video tutorials)

· Silverlight Forums – a place to ask questions with the community and where the product team hangs out to help

· Silverlight Line-of-business Training Kit – an 8 module video/lab series on writing business applications in Silverlight

· Mike Taulty’s Blog – great source of some deep information in areas like MEF and other app development topics

· John Papa’s Blog – John is the corporate evangelist for Microsoft

· Tim Heuer Blog – I try to post frequently for Silverlight development on news and fun/useful tips of using Silverlight in different areas

If you have any questions about Silverlight, don’t hesitate to ask them on the forums or my blog. It is an exciting time to be learning Silverlight and I want to make sure you have the resources you need in both tools and information. Thanks again for participating in the forum Q&A!

-Tim Heuer
