Hey

I'm new to web design and i know when i'm out my depth, i want to learn but i still need to get this done asap which is why i'm thinking of paying someone else to finish it depending on cost.

I need someone to take what i have already done, (It may not be pretty, in fact i know it's not pretty but it works) and turn it into a working e-commerce site. I am selling custom artworks where the user can customise their artwork/frame etc which is located on multiple pages, they finally end on an upload image page(this is where i am) and then they go to a checkout page and pay.

let me know if your interested

dan

Save some time and money and use OWS Templates for your e-commerce store. I have used them on numerous times for online stores.

hey guys

Thanks for the reply's, been really busy as my host has gone down and thanks topeka, might have to look into that

i've now uploaded the site to a temp host www.evco-design.co.uk

If you click on the acrylic and then customise button, you can run through the customise pages, when you come to the two tone and colour splash pages, i've add some extra pages after which all of the styles will have except for the first 3, it still needs works the images and text putting on correctly, but i was trying to get the setup right first. I've just mocked up a checkout page for now to show you what i want. The shopping gallery also need to connect to paypal but i have got that working off just a button, well the floral part anyway.

I wanted to stick with this and finish it myself as it's my first website but i'm not sure if i can and i need to get it finished.

Basically, i want the checkout page to display everything that was selected and calculate the cost that's all, so when a user goes through the website, they can select everything they want and pay via paypal

I've seen loads of checkout pages including topshopper but i just don't have a clue how to add them to my site the way i want.

Take a look at http://www.takingthepics.com/ site. He uses a very old version of topshopper and needs to upgrade to the latest. However, go to his galleries to see how the old system works.
P.S. the new one is much better - See Client sites

Hi Dan

firstly I think you have a good design.

But from a practical point of view, you are asking your clients to upload an image that you manipulate depending on their criteria. For that you will require a database to store the uploaded image.

The image they upload must be of a standard that can be altered, therefore you must create a upload form with minimum criteria.

Do you allow the client to upload before paying, if so be prepared for uploads from Jo public.

alternatively do you redirect to your upload page after paypal have confirmed payment, if so you must secure the upload page.

Just a few things to think about.

Yes it can be done, but a lot of coding will be involved.

Hey guys

It looks as though i still need help on my site as the guy that said he could help has gone awol.

Take a look at my site on www.evco-design.co.uk, I would like it so that when you select say Acrylic, the customise menu's start to pop up in order, i've managed to make it so that when you select a certain item, the next page will contain the option that goes with that item i.e. if you select a square picture, it will take you to a different option rather than if you select a rectangle picture it will take you to a portrait or landscape option.

I understand you need a database for this but i do not know where to start as i've never set one up before so i need some help, anyone interested in taking over for £? I need it as soon as and i'm struggling.
