Just try a simple google search, something like:

{business} + “add a site”
{graduate} + “add a site”

Try lots of combinations "submit url" etc...

Yes, googling is the best strategy to get any list of sites.Its takes some amount of time to get some good list but while along the process you learn a lot.

Hi, thank you for the information. I hear directories may not be the best way to build links- as may have been mentioned before, I think I should write external articles for other high ranking sites and link back to my site. Would you know of any sites I should start doing this on??

P.S. Is there a way I can see who is linking to me?

Personally I would do both. But choose a select number directories that specialise in the industry your website is focused on.
