I've been asked to implement a file exchange/storage solution for a small website (used by a company with 20 employes). They are looking to have files (eg PDFs x 10) available to download from inside their site with a login function.
Is there a 3rd party option for this? Maybe something that gives this set of functions in exchange for embedded ads? As it going to be such a small feature I'm hoping for an option that doesn't require a monthly fee.

Perhaps premium Rapidshare account or something similar would be a good solution. Especially if it had a method for embedding the login interface to send the user on.

There are loads of online backup type sites like DropBox and Syncplicity for example, which allow you to 'share' files with people and offer 1Gb or so of free space if that helps?
You could utilise such a service, and provide a link from the company's website.

Hi,
I can also recommend Dropbox, an excellent service and you can get up to 5GB free. You can also use links to share the files and desktop application to share folders.. All round a great tool!

DropBox for the win! I use it so much, pretty soon I'll have to start paying!
