Due to the Paypal charges I no longer accept Paypal as an option for web design work. The 3.4% plus 20p has not chnaged for ages even though general bank interest rates have dropped. I now accept cheque or cash and haven't had a problem as yet and neither cost me a penny.
Prior to that I have a standard Paypal business account.

Moneybookers charges the sender rather than the receiver, they are another option.

Paypal charges are too much for sure. Yet it is convenient. However I'd rather have a direct bank transfer when possible.
Money bookers sounds like a good option. But do you inform the client that they would be paying charges beforehand?

I refuse to use PayPal for accepting payment. Just BACS/cheque/cash for me!

it's handy for example for smaller amounts from the states to Britain or elsewhere in Europse otherwise wiring it seems to be complicated and costs about 35 dollars ...

I prefer bank transfer, but cheque will do.
Paypal just sounds less professional (and you lose a chunk of money) especially when you work with bigger companies who make sure you are VAT registered etc before they work with you.

Can I add a question to this post....
Are you guys sending an invoice via email and then listing payment options,
and do you include your bank account details on there for transfers?
