Anyone got any good resources for learning how to create e-flyers? A mate has asked me to do one for him and I've never had to before.
I'm guessing inline styles and a fixed width are common but not sure of how much html you're meant to include. Only really need to know how to form the basic structure; the rest should be ok.
It will be a fixed width with basic images, embedded vids and a few links. I'm thinking a table will simplify layout. Is there anything e-flyers can't handle well or things I should look out for?

Some advice here:-
http://articles.site...ail-newsletters
Use tables
Use inline styles (not head section styles or a separate stylesheet)
Use absolute urls for images ie http://www.mysite.com/pics/photo.jpg not just pics/photo.jpg

Echo what's said above - there is a lot of useful info in that link.
Also, have a look at the bulk email services instead of trying to do it through the usual email client. If it's only a small list of recipients for occasional email, MailChimp is free for under 500 subscribers/3000 emails a month. It will save you some time and effort, particularly in relation to managing the subscribers wanting to join/leave the mailing list (if appropriate). Plus your friend will be able to monitor responses of readers to a certain extent if he so wishes.

thankyou both for the link and advice, seems a lot more straight forward now.
- ← Flash preloader for HTML content?
- CSS, XHTML/HTML & JavaScript
- Vertically aligned html form fields / php question →
