All very well but anyone who understands what your list means probably does not need it. Most people trying to SEO their websites themselves will not understand from your list what they need to actually do - so how much help is this list? I have written the start of an idiot's guide to keywords on our website - I only started it today so it's not complete but proper articles are much more help than lists which novices won't understand anyway.

I don't think you understand - This site will have a better weighting than the dire site you're advertising, that way this will show up as one of the top results. SEO tip #1.

You've practically foiled the attempts of your business being successful, congratulations.

Thanks for the tips, but maybe you can elaborate a bit? I'm new at doing SEO, and I'm particularly interested in number 4.

Basically try and make your website organised and the pages easily accessable to people who want to view them. Don't make your navigation so complex it leaves the user confused.

I think SEO is important but not necessary required to get a good position and here is the reason why. A local business asked us to take a look at the website to see why they are no longer on the first page on a popular keyword anymore. The website was shocking it had

NO Document Type (DTD)
100's of JavaScript Errors
No Meta Data or Website Title
No H1 , H2 Tags
No IMG Alt Tags

I checked with Google and he had a good page rank and site had been indexed and was coming out on first page of Google from a single keyword !

It does rather depend on the particular keyword and the competition plus if the content was good then G will index it. You really don't know how well it would perform if those things were corrected!
