As far as I know, a low bounce rate like <10% is great.

As for your site though, its a bit buggy. Text over images on the frontpage and stuff =)

A 9% bounce rate is very good, however where are you getting these stats?

The average is 60% so 9% is extremely good.

How many visitors are you attracting per day? Where are your visitors coming from? As this could account for the unusually low bounce rate.

A good article on bounce rates >>

Well i guess you could say the figures arent trustworthy t the moment if the majority of visitors are there to check out your site as you've asked them, theyre bound to click all the links. It does however mean, your pages are easy to navigate =)

9% is exceptional, particularly If you're marketing a service and/or product but it depends on your traffic. If you have any PPC campaigsn setup all I can say is wow...

60!? That's appalling. The average I've come across is probably in the region of 25-50%. One of our clients gets around 2000 unique visitors a day and decreasing their bounce rate from 30-25% was an achievement in my eyes lol.

I stand corrected :)

However it really depends on the nature of the incoming traffic and the particular niche you work in. I have some clients who reach mid to low 20s quite easily while on my own site we average in the late 50s due to several other similarly named companies throwing out our score.

How much effect does a low bounce rate have on your SEO (Google rankings)?

The bounce rate is simply when someone goes onto your site and then leaves the site on the page they landed on (as in they don't go to any other pages on your site. so the higher the % the more people are going onto your site and not going any further, so the lower it is the better as that means that 9% of your total visitors left your site without looking past the page they went to while 91% explored the site and had a look through different pages.

It has been thought that bounce rates help with seo, but like with all things seo its just another one of those little things that adds upto the big thing known as seo, not being an seo expert I couldn't tell you how much it effects it.

True, it's one of the many factors that make up the bigger picture. Examining bounce rates on specific landing pages can help to determine how relevant and useful they are to visitors.

I like my stats for copywriting edge... 94% bounce rate and an average of 1.13 pages per visit. Sounds attrocious eh? But it's a one page site so I want to know where the 0.13 pages are and where the 6% go!

[OK... I know how it happens, but it still makes me laugh]

You need to further examine these figures too. Which pages are your best landing pages. Sometimes your service offering requires the visitor to call you so they will only visit that page of the contact number is displayed. This will increase the bounce rate, but looking at the top landing pages may help discover this.

Also what keywords are the visitors reaching your site with? If it is your company name then you will get very low bounce rate. When you start to get rankings for your key terms I would expect the bounce rate to lower because people will respond differently to your site.

I guess the answer for me is, look at other factors before deciding whether the bounce rate is good or not.

The lower the bounce rate, the better!

I always see bounce rate as an indication of how enticing the landing page is ie is it interesting enough that people want to see more. So in the end as always it is down to interesting content.
