That's just plain ol' cyber spiced ham (spam).

Spam is a no no, nip it in the bud :)

Anyway, theirs no point trying to get backlinks from irrelevant sites, as they offer little to no value to either your users or search engines.

Irrelevant back-links harm your SEO efforts ! which increases bounce rate & spam visits...

Sash_007

Who is your website for? Your customers, if they are not using the websites that you are trying to get links from then there is no point in wasting your time and resources in chasing them. Remember who the site is for and make it work for them.

I wish you success in your endeavours

Only building relevant links is the biggest MYTH in SEO right now.

Rand Fishkin is CEO of SEOmoz.org, one of the most trusted SEO sites on the planet, and a shoulder-rubber of Matt Cutts at Google. He own linkscape which analyses more links than everyone on this forum has had hot dinners put together.

This is what he wrote on 2nd October, in their company blog:

“To be totally honest, I don’t think the content relationship (relevancy) or matching subject matter has much of an impact in the algo right now. Off-topic links, so long as they’re from powerful, trustworthy sources, seem to help just as much as those with topical matches.

It may seem weird, but I know I’m far from the only SEO to have observed this phenomenon…..”

So there you have it. Relevancy is irrelevant. Just build links.

It isn't useful to you to get this kind of back links - they will give you low quality visitors. Anyway, this is your decision what kind of back links to get, but it will be good if you want to take a look to this article - maybe will help you to make your choice: http://website-promo...ges_income.html

It's the quality of the site that matters, 100 links from sites that barely exist aren't worth nearly as much as a handful from high traffic, good quality sites.

Less people will click thru to your site from links on irrelevant sites, more will click thru from links on related relevant sites so it depends what you want. Some sites with 1000s of links do poorly while others with a few hundred do well. That's my experience anyway. I think quality counts. Nobody really knows the algorithm and blog posts from those that are meant to know, are often ambiguous.

The only thing we know for sure is that there is a move towards honesty. Imagine your website is your son and that the links are his friends - what would make you happier, him having 50 friends some of whom are dodgy or 5 friends who are fun and well behaved! A matter of personal choice.
