Hi everyone,

Im meant to be installing a very very basic quick install of an e-commerce platform for a friend that will easily allow him to use paypal.

Is OSC abit too old now? its the only one that is freebie that i have any experience with (i work alot with other team members that do the php/ecomms side) so was wondering if maybe i should switch to zencart or something?

I would be grateful for any help/information.

Yes OSC is very dated :) If you want a quick install and easy to use cart there's always Cubecart. The free version is ok but the commercial version is way better. Plus CC's templates are a zillion times easier to edit than OSC's!

Ok, ive just given CubeCart a go and near the end (well i think it is) of installation it kicked up a:

MySQL Error Occured
2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

Any ideas?
