Hi Guys,
I'm a newb to this forum.
I am considering moving some of my customer accounts (~10) to a VPS solution (from standalone shared hosting accounts). These websites are mainly PHP with MySQL driving reasonable traffic.
I've taken a look at the VPSs in the market and I can't for the life of me differentiate the various providers.
It would be great to learn what you have based your VPS provider decisions on.
Thanks everyone,
Dan

Hi Dan,
You need to be with a provider who has a proven track-record, good uptime & excellent support... A vps is different to standard shared hosting in so many ways so your chosen provider needs to know what they are doing
On a side note - We can do VPS hosting in three locations - UK, NL and USA
Plus we already host a few members of this forum on VPS plans and as far as I can tell they are happy.

Welcome to the forum
Why do you want to move from shared hosting to a VPS solution?

Well, I supposse for a couple of reasons:
1. to consolidate my customer sites
2. to learn more about virtualisation and become more current and sophisticated
3. to spice things up a bit?

I am with Peartree and I am very happy. Had an issue at the weekend (although it might have been my router and nothing to do with the server) and had a response within 1 hour. Awesome service if you ask me.

Must have been your router - We didn't receive any alerts.
But ill do some deeper looking if you email me your IP Addresses.

Hello,
I have suffered at the hands of lots of hosting providers. It is a difficult decision as when it goes down you are at the mercy of their technical support.
I wrote a little blog on my experience with linode here
http://www.davidstcl...-linux-vps.html
I will keep it updated as my time with them progresses
Cheers
