I want to create a website for my organization.
All the computers are connected by LAN in my organization.
I have windows xp x86 32 bit installed on my computer.
I have installed IIS on my comp and have admin rights on my computer.
The website i create should only viewable on the LAN.
The website has a form asking details which I would like to store on my computer.
Other users of my organization must be able to access this form from their computers and fill the details.
I am thinking of using frontpage 2003 to design my form and access 2007 as the backend.
pLease suggest if there are any other options.
Thanks

Sounds like you want to set up an intranet portal for your server, the chances are thatg you're going to need Windows Server for your LAN to do this, and allow it to act as a host, even though it's only going to be local. I'd avoid using Frontpage to design and Access as the back end, you're better off either hiring someone else to do it if you don't have the knowledge and want a potentially powerful system that works correctly. Integrating stuff like databases to a website is advanced stuff.

You could look at installing the Apache web server, mySQL database and PHP on your windows machine. Everything is free, so you don't need to worry about cost.
Hope this helps you
- You can download (and easily install) all of this by installing the XAMPP package, which you can obtain for free here: http://www.apachefri...g/en/xampp.html
- Free web page creator/editor: Kompozer
- Here is a link to a site explaining how to set up Apache Web Server for Intranet usage: http://www.irt.org/a...js160/index.htm
- Here is a link to some tutorials for PHP beginners: http://www.keithjbro.../php/php_p1.php
- Here is a link to PHP beginner books on amazon.co.uk (I've read books by Wrox Press before and find them to be quite good)
Hope this helps you

Hello,
Using the IIS that comes with Windows XP is fine for testing and developing asp or html pages. If you want to serve these pages to others in the organisation be very careful with Windows XP as it only allows 10 concurrent connections.
As mentioned by other posters its a good idea to use wamp or xampp
