Should I repeat the word 'jewellery' in my keywords?

I'm building a site for a jeweller at the moment and she sent me a list of keywords/phrases which she thinks people would use to search for the site and we'll be working on the text on Thursday this week to tie in keywords with the text and page titles etc etc - I'm no SEO expert, so just doing the basics.
I'm just wondering whether it's a good idea to repeat the word 'jewellery' in the meta inof or not...e.g.
- Scottish Jewellery
- Enamel Jewellery
- Wedding Jewellery
- Platinum Jewellery
- Gold Jewellery
- Silver Jewellery
Any advice?

Hard to say without looking at the site. What is the plan SEO wise? Is it an ecommerce site or a brochure site promoting local services? Is it a brand new site or an old established one? If established how is it currently ranking?
Normally, mentioning 1 word a lot is considered spammy how that effects your site is up to the search engines and how thy view your content and link patterns. How ever if you using 1 keyphrase per page then sure its ok to mention that name throughout the page and meta info just dont go too mad.

Personall I dont think there is much point if you're talking solely about meta information (including titles). Instead of repeating something use variations of a word or phrase such as "Jewellers" or something. Repeating a keyword in the content is different but, as suggested, never spam and keep things readable.

You are such a pro, I love your designs.
If their business model is selling to local people I would recommend going for a title similar to 'Edinburgh Jewellers, specialist in Gold, Platinum, silver, Enamel, and Wedding Jewellery' Although the 1st words have the most weight in a title so might be worth playing with it a little.
There are 40k people searching edinburgh jewellery per month, could be a valuable keyphrase to target.
Does that help? I am not sure if that answers your question??

Thanks for the info. Doesn't really answer my question to be honest. Should I list all the things I mentioned above in my meta info under keywords like this:
or is the repetition considered as spamming as someone's already mentioned.
At the moment I've just got the following as I just wanted to give the client an idea of keywords and terms and I've used the same for each page, but will be tailor making the list for each page once the finished text goes into the site.
<meta name="keywords" content="Scottish Jewellery, Enamel Jewellery, Wedding Jewellery, Platinum Jewellery, Gold Jewellery, Silver Jewellery" />

<meta name="keywords" content="Irene Orr, John Flegg, Scottish Gold and Silversmiths, Alchemia Studio, Alcehmia Gallery, Alchemia Jewellery, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Enamel, Precious Stone, Alchemia Studio Jewellery, Alcehmia Studio Gallery" />

ah sorry, I thought you were asking about Titles. Previous answer still stands, it may be considered spammy and I wouldnt risk it.

Also bonus tidbit from Wizely... slap in misspellings like 'jewelry' - it won't do any harm and can help when people mistype.
And the more-important title and description could do with trimming and rejigging if you're getting serious!
As always a great site Eskymo.

there's also the american way of spelling it as well and they do have regular american customers that come over during hte festival and get something bespoke made or just pop in to buy something special.
