I'm starting to learn asp.net and want to know what are the best books that will teach me to.

build cms database driven sites
build ecommerce
build email forms and templates

teach me to program and not just use the drag and drop in visual studio.

Am using the Murach ASP.net 3.5 with VB 2008 Book.

I am sure they have the C# version.

Very step by step.

ALso the ASP.NET 3.5 for Dumbos isn't bad either.

Why C#?

I use the Apress books. Top notch.

Pro C# 2008 and the .NET 3.5 Platform

Pro ASPNET 3.5 in C# 2008

Pro LINQ in C# 2008

...and this one for Entity Framework....

Programming Entity Framework

If you need any help, just let me know. I've been programming C# apps since .NET 1.1. :-)
