I have checked my sites inbound links, about 230, but only 1 inbound link from Google.
That worries me, should I be worried? or is it the total links including Yahoo that are important?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Google only shows you some, dont confuse this with the most important or least important or even average important, they are random. Yahoo shows you all the links they know about even if they are nofollow whereas google never shows nofollow.

The reason for Google not showing all backlinks is known only to itself, only shows a portion of indexed links it has for your site. So what ever Google says, you can be safe in the knowledge that the actual number is a lot higher, and they are just choosing not to show you. There are a number of conspiracy theories out there about why this is. The most popular is that Google wants to protect it’s indexing algorithm.
So keep this in mind and don’t get worry if google is not displaying your backlinks. Keep building backlinks to get good Pagerank and SERP ranking.

I think the number 230 is the showing that how many indexed links you have on google and 1 is showing your back link.
