I have a customer that has asked me to set up and manage a Google AdWords campaign for him. I have several successful campaigns myself, so I know what I'm doing I'm just unsure about how to charge for it.
I mean obviously there will be a fee but whether it’s a monthly fee or a additional price on each click. Also I'm confused about whether to add him to my AdWords account or create him a new one, because if I do it through mine I will have to pay for his clicks on my credit card then charge him the amount, this is fine if he pays a.s.a.p. but as we all know that’s not generally how it works.
If anyone offers this service I would be very grateful in finding out how you do this.
Thanks in advance if you can help.

First thing to do is get your client to set up an account in their name, and add some funds to get started with. You can then login and set up the initial campaigns and ads.
For determining how much you charge it's really a case of working out how many hours you spend then charge either hourly or a flat fee every month/quarter/year.

Hi Ash,
I have been equested to do this too. I have had a look at competitors websites and thought long and hard about how long it would take. For my situation (working from home with lower overheads), I have calculated that a £75-£125 monthly management fee works well for me. This may not be the case for everyone, some may want more or less so have a long hard think about it, also think about how many keywords the specific campaign would need etc.
And make sure you set up the AdWords account in the clients name, not yours.
Good luck and just ask if you need any help with it,
Cheers,
Chris

adwords campaigns take forever to get right, split testing, setting up groups, changing the copy, the landing pages etc etc etc. The question is, are you going to do it properly or not?

Typical charge for Adsense campaign management is between 5-10% of budget. Of course if their budget is very low and they have hundreds of ad variations you might need to charge more.
