Hi,

I may begin working on a website shortly, but the owner has already purchased the domain name from 123-reg.co.uk.

Once the site is ready and tested, how do I upload it if the address is in their ownership?

Do they just need to give me the HOST, USERNAME and PASSWORD?

Will this informartion be readily available to the?

I want to make sure I know what it is they need to give me...

Any advice appreciated, Many thanks

You just need the ftp address, username and password.

They can set up an extra ftp account so that they don't have to give you access to the control panel, unless you require control panel access in anyway.

That's assuming they already have hosting, which is a separate thing from owning a domain name.

If they do not, you can set up a hosting account anywhere and set up your FTP details for it. Or advise them on doing so.

You would then either request details for their domain control panel to set the nameservers to point to the new host, or tell them what they need to put in there.
