I dont think having the word nuclear in it makes it all that appealing - people associate nuclear being bad....

Making $1000 dollars a month will be highly unlikely and will take a long time to get (eg. your gonna have to run the website for a long time in order to build up a fanbase) - But I wish you the best of luck with the project.

Oh, and if you plan to make money from it why are there no adverts on there? :o

Only think I would change is the red text for your logo on the dark background? I'm a bit of a stickler for this so I would change the text to white or yellow or something that contrasts better. ;)

Cheers

I don't think your concept is going to take off. Especially as most of your videos are from YouTube, you're not going to make a £1000 a month website by linking YouTube videos! Your layout is garish and templated (Drupal Theme created with Artisteer ) and theres no clear visual identity.

If you want the website to be focussed around "mean" videos (bad idea there's plenty of websites with that kind of stuff which haven't really taken off) then why do you have a tranquil sunset in the header? The swirly tentacle thing was never cool and fell out of the loop a good few years ago. Due to the positioning of the words "Nuclear vids" you've somehow managed to make bright red hard to read!

Make yourself a nice illustrated logo, lose the picture background and I'd recommend making it darker if its for darker themed videos.

Also lose the Search navigation link (its next to the search button) and get some useful modules for Drupal to make it a bit more interactive for the user.

Nope my site is not a "dark" site... is just a gallery of my favorites vids from the web and.. well.. just that's it... And about theming yes... i have a lot to work... this is my first "real" :D site you know.. infact I have another but that was made very simple.
Do you know www.cubestat.com? I used it to see how much a similar website(with embedded vids from Youtube) earns by day and it said about 4000-5000$ on a single day :o Can be this true?

Probably a glitch with the stats, what site did you check? And these calculators aren't very accurate, they just use public statistics to guestimate a value.

You're dillusional unfortunately, we've been working with folks online for many years and have far superior knowledge in matters like this. You're never going to compete with the dozens of popular sites that already do the same thing because you're not offering anything new or different. Why should someone come to your site when they could drop a link in the chain and just head over to YouTube.com for the same videos with more options of comments, high quality, high definition and the ability to scroll through other similar videos at the same time.

I'm afraid you should stop lying to yourself and think of another money-making idea.

I was thinking to modify this site to create an Youtube / Wikipedia hybrid. I think I might create a way users can add good information about the videos I bring. In the future maybe I will offer even the posibility that users can upload their own videos. So it will be something like an Encarta online. What do you think about this plans?

If you mean an encyclopedia of videos, then it's already been done I'm afraid:

Basically, you got to do the hard part, think of something that is unique and hasn't been done before

I have another idea.... ^_^ What about an Youtube/Myspace/Flikr/Odeo hybrid. I think I can make a site where you can make friends, chat, IRC chat, share and play video/audio files, share images, share opinions, maybe even play games! I saw a lot of this kind of sites and none includes ALL of that features. :good:

You're not going to think of something unique by just brainstorming and trying really hard, you have to have a real nack and a talent for it, and unfortunately just being driven by money isn't your best bet, you're supposed to get your inspiration elsewhere, not just have the pound signs flashing back and forth across your eyes, funnily enough that's what I think makes many designers so successful, they're not driven by the money they earn, but the creative aspect, hence their ability to consistently create amazing designs.

And you're not going to get anywhere by creating a site that's a medly of all other popular websites either, people like specific websites, it allows them to get on there, do what they need to do and leave, rather than having to trawl through stuff they want to do.

If I were you, I'd just get a job.

1000 dollars is big money?? I know someone who said to me he earns 300 dollars every month from a one page website...!! <_< So building something better wouldn't mean that I can earn more money?

How much influence can have the design of a website? People see a good looking site once, then they see it again, then forget it.. The most important thing is the content, the quality and the qauantity of it. Every webmaster who can bring a lot of very interesting content on his site can be a winner even though it is not an 100% original idea. Original ideas are rare and because of the Internet expansion even more rare. So following your way of thinking only geniuses must do webdesign from now on.

I can't believe how wrong you are, it's a combination of content and design, you wouldn't use a website that is vile, yet has some good content, you'd use a site that is good and has good content too, and every suggestion you've made so far has both of those.

I personally don't give 2 cents for the design of the website if it provides me the information I need. And about "combination of content and design" look at Youtube, Yahoo or Google designs. They are successful even with their lack of fancy graphics.

Good design isn't about 'fancy graphics'. You can have a really simple site with few graphics that will still be described as having a great design. Sites such as YouTube and Google are extremely well designed in terms of accessability and usability.

This was my point too! But their is a big difference between eye-catching looks and "accessability and usability".
