Do any of you lot go to business networking meets in your local area? If so, what are they like, do you get any good leads, or is it a waste of time?

i went to one last year and I know a few people who go to them. on average they say they make £25k pa out of the contacts you make but it takes a few months of going to start getting leads. I cant remember the name of the one i went to but it was a morning breaky at 7ish and then every week or 2 you had to go out for dinner with another member.
I didnt carry on because well, it clashed with my cycling routine, I didnt want to have dinners with people and I work my own hours and like to do what i want when i want. Also im not that type of guy.
I would say its defo worth a shot. I had to stand up and give a brief of who i was and what i do etc so have a 60sec brief of what you do and dont make it about html strict validation, talk about making them money and promoting their business to the new generation etc. too many web guys are geeky, be honest and talk about benefits not features and maybe some success stories.
