I am just wondering what you would charge for a CSS/XHTML 20 Page site with a flash image scroller containing 5/6 images and an interactive map showing 12 different branch locations.
That would be for one branch and the companny would need a site for each branch so 12 branches in total = 12 sites. The content is roughly the same but image scrollers and logo's would change.
How much extra would you charge for a CMS for each site aswell per site.
I don't need the work done but am curious how much you would charge as I have the job for my fathers company but just wondered how much you would charge or what its worth, post either here or PM me.

What Would You Charge

I think if we were to quote for a project like this we would need a lot more information. Plus i am strongly against the use of Flash unless it is absolutely necessary. Some web designers charge by the hour, and some by page (even if they quote per project they are estimating how much time and including a profit margin). As a general rule of thumb hourly rates range from about £10 / £75 per hour, or £50 to £250 per page, this all depends on the level of experience of the designer.
If we were to quote based on current info of 20 pages potentially replicated over 12 sites .... about £20k. If the 12 sites were just replicated probably work out about 2k. But then we would have to outsource the flash.
Hope this gives you some idea of what you might be expected to pay for a site of this size.

Hard to say without knowing more, but I'd say a minimum of 1.5k going up to 2k and more with a CMS.
It also depends how much a site is worth to them, and what they can afford. If it's built to hopefully bring in an extra 10k a year then charge whatever percentage of that you can get. Difficult to quantify this, though.
If it's for your dad's company and they don't want to splash the cash much, then you could ask for a bonus if the sites prove themselves in the first year. Least you know they won't (hopefully) reneg on it.

so even though there would be 12 sites you would charge 2k?
Technically its creating 12 sites with similar content.
A 20 page CSS/XHTML site with a flash image slide show/interactive map would be ~£1k referring toHere.
Would it not be 12x that amount maybe minus abit for discount? so roughly like 8k or something?

I'd definitely use an open source CMS, probably CMS Made Simple, and would probably charge £1.5K for the first one (because that would include creating the Flash stuff), and then maybe £1K per additional branch (because the heavy work would already be done).

No, I meant 2k for one. But it wouldn't be 12 times as much for 12 because most of the hard work is done already. If it's just new content for each then I'd probably do them at 25-50% of the original cost. That's pulled out the air though, so who knows. If they can afford it and the sites are worth it, then maybe 75%.
