I see your point but its a high demand feature of a site, learning how to do this securely would be a good skill for a web designer to learn. People that know how to do it where beginners at one point. BTW I haven't agreed to make a site with a payment feature I just want to learn so I can provide the service in the future.

ah right ok - its just that I see a lot of newbies (usually on my MSN list) who have taken on a project that involves dealing with a payment system and they usually fark it up at their own expense...

Personally, your better off allowing another company to handle payment in most cases, otherwise you need to fork out for dedicated ip and an ssl cert. (startcom offer a free ssl, with low insurance (about £10k) and dedicated ip's aren't expensive, £3-10-ish).

Why don't you use a Merchant like PayPal. I am looking into that myself as i have a client asking me to sell them their music albums off their website that i am building. So i will ask them if THEY have a PayPal account and set that up for them. That way i wont fark anything up!

Hi Martin,

If you want to save yourself some time and still have a really good booking system on hand when needed, then I suggest you try out Sirvoy Reservation System's free trial. Many web developers choose to use Sirvoy as we have over the years spent thousands of hours perfecting our system by listening to any feedback and adjusting the system accordingly.

If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer.

Regards
Mats

I think in the 2 1/2 years that it as been since the guy made the original post it's safe to say he's probably done the job by now - quit spamming!
