Hello.

I had to buy a few webdesign mags the other day, whilst on my hols, due to boredom. They cost me £6 each! I was shocked, they where ok mags, but not worth £6. So, here comes my new idea. A web-design, devlopment and marketing e-zine, priced at £2.

Right. I need knowledgeable web designers/devleloper/ flash writers, marketers e.t.c ,who are good writers to start writing for me. The positions are unpaid. They will be revenue sharing based, and each designer gets free marketing and promotion of their sites in the mag. They also get 5 free copies of the e-zine to email to friends e.t.c a month. Its a monthly mag.

please PM me or add me on MSN tyrc@hotmail.co.uk

I've been considering something similar (altho not the same subject matter at all) and I'd came up with the model of the e-mag is free to download and is supported by advertising. A PDF e-mag is great as you don't have the printing or distribution costs associated with print.

Everyone loves a freebie, and with growing d/l numbers you could convince advertisers to come on board. :)

Just a thought?

By the way, the mags you buy for £7 in the UK I gotto shell out nearly the double for in Norway. Yea, I got bit of a shock when I moved from England to back home. :(

bascially, it would be an all encompassing web design mag, with news, reviews of software, tutorials, cool sites, articles, ads and more.

I need people to write tuts, articles and reviews.

It sounds interesting. But as I'm in the progress of starting up my own company I'm worried about how much extra time I got. I don't think I'd be able to offer anything other than guest writing at the moment.

copy ^

I would be happy to contribute when I have something worth-while, but a solid commitment is something I can't offer unfortunately.

I would be happy to write articles/tutorials whenever i get a spark and forward them...

I'd be up for contributing - but not sure what - you'd have to tell me. Bring back CreateOnline!!! That was the best web magazine ever...shame they stopped making it. I've still got every issue from when it was out.

Ditto, I would love to help out aswell. It could be a e-mag where guests actually get to see their stuff on it. So something where community makes it up (atleast some pages of it). Could include tutorials, reviews, links (aka advertisements).

Let me know when you start it off. I'm up for such challenge.

I (like a mug) pay £ 5.99 (for a certain glossy magazine with free disc) to read about "50 amazing / essential web design / SEO / Google secrets that you need to know. We interviewed the world's top design gurus to reveal these incredible secrets....blah blah blah....."

to be told 25 things I already knew and 25 other things that I didn't need to know...

Give it a go....people are willing to pay money to read the same regurgitated garbage every month...so if you have good articles I think you will succeed.

Create Online was good - maybe a little too good but also very thin, very expensive and a little too up itself to carry on which is a shame.....

The front cover was always amazing and inspiring....

It made web design seem so glamorous. The panel debating the latest trends always consisted of good looking people and then there was the one guy with his glasses on upside down and looking crazy. Their studio always super cool with its own indoor football pitch, pinball machines, waterfall and other trendy crap. The team would be photographed near a vandalized kids playground looking moody and interesting....lots of graffiti, a skip and a tramp asleep nearby....

Actually I think I'm getting carried away...I'll drag out an old copy to check....
