Photochop challenge

Welcome to my challenge :) and no I haven't spelt photoshop wrong :p

This is a very simple little game for anyone who wants to join in and has an image editor. The idea is simple take the last image posted and add your own little bit to it, then repost it so that someone else has can have a go. This way we will create a group collage :)

Let me show you what I mean, here is the image that we will be using for this round:

Attached File  image1.jpg (112.65K)
Number of downloads: 3

see it is quite bland and boring so we need to add something intresting to it, so as I lack imagination I am going to add this dolphin:

Attached File  2.jpg (67.67K)
Number of downloads: 3

and here is the end result:

Attached File  the_image.jpg (372.41K)
Number of downloads: 20

I don't know how well this will work or if anyone will be interested in doing it but I though it could be a nice little group thing to do (which a lot of people wanted) and it won't take up too much of someone's time.

So anyway the rules are simple:

  • Use the last image posted so that no image gets left out.

  • Images can be taken from anywhere on the net, but must be of reasonable enough quality (so no pixlated stretched images please)

  • The image doesn't have to be photo real, use cartoons or whatever you want, as long as the quality is good :)

  • Images should be cut off their backgrounds

  • Only add one thing at a time, and do not completely paste it over someone else's edit, you can over lay it a little if you want, just don't fully cover someone else's work on the image

  • So that only one person is working on the image at a time you must post in here saying that you are editing the image before you start, then you have 30 mins from that post to post your edited version of the image, otherwise someone else can take over. This way everyone who worked on it will have their image included, rather than lots of people working on it at the same time.

  • Always take the last image posted, so check the thread :)

  • Have fun with it, be creative and lets see what we can come up with :D

So if anyone wants to have a go please take the image above with the dolphin on it and start editing (the end result one). So lets see if this gets a bit of interest and maybe we could make a little weekly challenge out of it, with a different image each week :)

That is the idea of the game, you can add anything that you want to add to the image, you just take this image (or the last one posted if someone has edited this one):

Attached File  the_image.jpg (372.41K)
Number of downloads: 20

Then it is up to you what you want to do with it...add a fred flintston water skiing, a giant baby climbing up the rock, it is up to you. The idea was just to take that really dull landscape and add things to it to make an interesting image. So after you have added something to it repost it then someone else adds something to the one you have uploaded and so on, until the image is lively, interesting and more than likely surreal. So let your imagination get carried away:)

What about if everyone downloads the image and works on it at the same time, how will we know which one to use? Maybe we need to log it in and out :p

I think you have to make a post saying you are working on it. Then you have 30mins from time of post to upload your piccy. I suppose once the time has expired - someone else can work on it instead.

EDIT: Sorry dizi. Iguess you posted the same time as me. But I get it.

NP, I have made it bold so it stands out :) If anyone thinks 30 mins is too short to add one image to another image just say and the time limit can be increased, this was just added so that if someone says that they are doing a change and that change doesn't happen that the game can continue instead of being put on hold waiting for something that isn't going to happen :)

Just one more question (more aimed at my stupidity) What is the best way to upload a photo to the forum?

If you use 'add reply' instead of fast replying there is an upload box just under where you type the message. Once it is uploaded it is held in the little dropdown box above that which says 'Manage Current Attachments', so click in that and press the button with the little green plus next to it and it will place the image in the message...it should make more sense when you see it :)

Brilliant!
I'd join in but it'd take me much more than 30mins to 'cut-out' an image in photoshop! Just wanted to say:
  • Great idea
  • Great imaginations
  • Beware the men in white coats!

Can't wait to see what product of someone's imagination is coming next!

Well you could always cut the image out and then check to see if there is an updated version of the image if you want a go :)

Ohh and I am planning that once this one is finished moving the final image into the copy section for someone to come up with a title for it :pp
