I've been using Google's new web browser for over a month now and finding it very good in all respects. Firefox has serious competition...

Have to agree with you there..... I use nothing but chrome for browsing now! (though I think it has something to do with mozilla and therefor firefox, but don't quote me on it ;) )

Yes, Chrome uses the WebKit rendering engine to display web pages. The framework is now used by Omniweb, Shiira, iCab, Adobe AIR, Google Chrome, mobile phones (including the iPhone), Nokia’s Series 60 browser, and Google’s Android platform.

I wouldn't recommend using Chrome for browsing yet until they have the automatic-download bug sorted? Or the :% shut-down bug sorted.

I find it slows down trying to deal with flash players. Plus it always mucks up importing my FF bookmarks, so I'm not dumping FF just yet. But it's a good start.

I still like Opera for just browsing (with Firefox for when I want to do things!) - Chrome will undoubtedly, like all things Google, develop into an unbeatable tool - for now it's just got that empty Beta feeling.

I'm looking forward to when they update it to use the latest webkit. It will be nice to have some browsers available that are stable and that pass the acid3 test.

I really do not get the point just why Google has introduced Chrome anyway. Until a few months ago, Google was constantly promoting and advertising Mozilla Firefox using various forms but they suddenly disconnected their support of the software and then introduced their own browser.

Chrome is good, but as a webdeveloper I have to admit firefox at the moment is better because of addon and its functionality.

I love the chrome interface - but I can't help think am I at risk using it? Is the security up to that of Firefox?

I also love the firefox web developer extension toolbar and firebug.

I use chrome for general browsing and firefox for webuilding... Firefox because of the Web Dev toolbar and many others, and chrome just seems really fast...

When chrome has add-ons Mozilla needs to step it up a gear, since if something similar comes out for chrome im jumping on it and getting rid of FF

it displays "whooa! Google Chrome has been Crashed Restart now?"
It was like :o :o
So finally I have to uninstall it and Switch to Firefox.
I tried safari but its Gui Sucks!
So same i switch to firefox
then i Tried Opera new 4.2 beta. But now it was my decision to switch to Firefox

As of V2 they've decided the make sure when chrome is maximised, you cant access rocket dock, or even the windows task bar for those of us who set it to auto hide.

Other than that, it still looks promising, i'm just waiting for the pluging capabilities to come along.

 Well google chrome doesn't support meez.com, so I use IE for that. But it notices spelling mistakes and is very quick. IE takes quite a long time to load. GC also remembers the sites you've been on, so when you open it, it has those thumbnail things you can click to go on the site.

Perhaps, but not as we'd wish. I'd love it if an organization with enough influence suped up a linux distro for the average user well enough to compete with windows. I like Ubuntu and use it for work and software dev but I find it's still too immature in regards to audio and video editing. Gnome and KDE better step things up if linux is going to compete with windows 7's new look.

Or... there's a few theories about google and the possibility of a 'GooOS': (do we call it Goo O.S.? Goo-os? Gos? Goose?)

Firefox has been your best friend for years, all the free web developer & seo plugins have made wesite design a breeze.

The only reason people use Google Chrome is that it's new and it's a novely.

I like the fact that it is so basic. But if you are a web developer, which many of you are any you don't know about the web developer plugins for firefox then you should click the link below:

I personally use Chrome and seem to have adjusted to it quite well. Firefox just seems a tad slow and cumbersome in comparison in my opinion. I'm looking forward to see what Google will do to improve it over the future.

Safari 4 is kicking ass right now. So fast, and up with the latest technologies. JS effects render so smooth.

If the wealth of plugins wasn't around for FireFox I doubt I would still be using it. But it's the character that makes FF so good.
