Evening All,
Should the text content on my web design site be kept formal and very salesman like or do you think a touch of humor and a more laid back approach is better?

I'm just your opinons really I guess it depends on the style of site, but do you think humor is really appropriate?

It depends entirely on your target market's likely reaction but, if your market isn't elderly, high-powered professionals and you're not selling funeral services then humour (not comedy), handled subtly and with purpose is always good. People like to see personality and the human side of a business. But it takes skill to handle well or you'll look like you don't take things seriously and you are a joke.

Nothing wrong with the level of humour but it's never a good idea to start with a negative (i.e. what you won't do) and it's never good to poke fun at the fundamentals of your offering (i.e. that it is critical, it makes money and your customer service) - it's like Scully in the X-Files who's seen aliens a million times, had an alien baby and still doesn't believe in them - it loses you credibility!
