At least it's an IE-friendly site and the "upgrade or die, bee-atches" sign is pretty. :)

This is a pipe dream, On one hand we have companies that have yet to upgrade the browsers to ie7, making it so we still have to test our websites with ie6. With all this testing and the browser still being installed it is furthering the need to build for it. The latest browser stats don't good either :( http://www.w3schools...wsers_stats.asp

The Royal Mail business website only works in IE6.
(I.e. where companies with accounts can log in and organise all their postage)

It's going to take a long time to die...but I really, really want it to!

I wish Governments would actually ban MS products which break antitrust laws, rather than just slapping them with pocket-money fines. Nice revenue for the government, sucky situation for the entire world as MS dumbs down the public.

It is Microsoft's fault that most people can't do basic things on a computer
It is Microsoft's fault that most people think IE IS the Internet
It is Microsoft's fault that most people don't understand file systems (Can't find "My Documents" from the C:/ drive).

If MS hadn't dumbed it's OS down, people would have had to learn the fundamentals. IT would be a standardised, monitored, professionalised industry (think Corgi IT engineers). People would still have computers in their homes. The internet would still be a doddle for everyone (in fact easier, IE wouldn't be holding us all back).

There are a lot of things MS does do well, but they stretch themselves too thinly and do far too much dumbing down.
If MS wasn't trying to create a media player, deal with IE8 and actually focused on it's OS, it might be worth the money.

That's my opinion anyway.

DOWN WITH IE6!!!!

I think I've made my feelings about IE and Micro$haft all too clear on the forum already, so I won't go on a tirade now. What I did notice though was on a thread a couple of weeks ago, someone made a typo (I assumed it was a typo) and wrote 'Internet Exploder'
I propose that this should now become the forum standard label for referring to this abomination.

We need a global scare campaign - "IE6 is funded by Al Quieda - upgrade now!" :)

Alert people (not with a pop-up window!) that they are using an outdated browser and offer them alternative browsers.

<browser src="ie6" alt="Firefox, Opera, Safari" />

:D
