No real reason to close that thread. I don't condone personal attacks, but there's no other thread which dicusses design in such detail or with such passion. Bad move IMO

Dizi - thanks for your support. Guys - I'm not interested in seeing people embarrass themselves. I'm more interested in seeing how the community copes with a successful site that flies in the face of everything we hold dear. I think leaving a forum over a trivial disagreement is pretty childish though.

Its a shame to see you go Oakleaves, you were a good member when you weren't insulting me... sorry I bite back, but I hope that this had nothing to do with you deciding to leave.

Photoshop is anathema to web design. Discuss:

I would say the browser itself. Designing websites straight into the browser, only using Photoshop for specific design elements, allows the feel of the website to be understood. Don't you agree?

I believe, a thorough design requires at least a mockup for consideration.
On the fly design can be fast and effective, but not for an extensive design + many clients require a preview, photoshop is the best way to do this, currently.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.
