I've decided, after treading the familiar path of pain, confusion and struggle that is learning web development, to try and give something back. There's nothing worse than trawling forums for answers to a problem, or hunting through masses of documentation only to find the answer to your problem was in a subtly different Google Search, or tucked away in some obscure Russian wiki's comment list.
So, in this blog I will try to provide a series of tutorials/information that help solve some of the problems I have had to solve in my day to day job as web developer - to share some of the tricks of the trade for all you budding newbies that are embarking on the same treacherous journey! Just for the record, I'm no expert, and I'm learning every day too - so if you see something that can be improved - feel free to let me know!
To kick it off, I'm going to write a series of articles about OOP, what it is, when to use it, and some cool tricks that show you what you can do in OOP that you can't do (easily) in procedural. Most of the tutorials I've had to trawl through on dev issues tend to be quite arcane, or utilise the animal classes example, so I want to try and focus on some practical examples that help you get a specific job done.
Anyway - that's the first post, I figured I should declare my intentions rather than leave an empty blog awaiting my first masterpiece...see you all in a bit!
