Bradford hi-tech designers hope to raise a four-figure sum for Bradford City’s £100,000 Burns Unit Appeal.
Evolve Web Solutions is auctioning a ten-page website throughout January.
Rob Marsden, one of the three directors, said: “Our top package is worth about £1,200. If we can surpass that for the appeal that would be what we are aiming for.
“Two out of the three of us have been going to Bradford City since we were boys. The appeal is close to our hearts, so we want to give something back.”
Evolve Web Solutions specialises in providing websites and hi-tech solutions to companies and individuals in West Yorkshire. The successful auction bidder will be announced on February 1.
The Burns Unit Appeal is raising money to keep open the pioneering research unit at Bradford University.
To date, more than £30,000 has been raised. It is hoped to meet the £100,000 target by May – the 25th anniversary of the Valley Parade fire disaster which cost 56 lives and left nearly 200 people badly injured. The appeal has reached its Christmas target of £30,000.
Since the Telegraph & Argus campaign kicked off in August, fundraising events have been held across the country in aid of the pioneering research unit at Bradford University, which was set up in the aftermath of the disaster.
David Baldwin, Bradford City’s operations director, said: “The aim was to push through the £30,000 barrier by Christmas and indications show we have achieved that. I think the response the appeal has had has been absolutely fantastic.
“The ethos is that we remember and respect. This is the best way we can show respect for the people who were affected by the fire.”
